It was a great couple of days for the Rochester Adams Ski teams. On Tuesday, February 2nd, the JV Boys team earned a divisional title with their effort. Brayden Tapert took 1st place, Jay O’Connor took 4th place, Tyler Kaczocha took 5th place, Justin Tyack took 7th place. For the Girls JV, Grace Wisniewski finished in 8th place.
On Wednesday, February 3rd, the two ski teams faced some tough conditions on the course despite some beautiful weather. This didn’t stop the Highlanders from putting in their best efforts. On the girls side, Katie and Alyssa Fodale lead the team. Alyssa was the top finisher for the Highlanders in the Slalom with a 5th place finish while Katie was close behind in 6th. In the Giant Slalom, the two flipped the script as Katie took 3rd and Alyssa 12th. Seniors Lexi Hazen and Rachel Dee were the next top finishers for the team. Lexi was 20th in the Slalom and 28th in the Giant Slalom, Rachel Dee was 22nd in the slalom and 47th in the Giant Slalom. Addison Grake was 25th in the Slalom. The girls finished 4th overall on the day.
The boys team continued their strong season as they brought home the Divisional title in resounding fashion as they beat the next closest team by 59 points. In the first race of the day, the Slalom, Jacob Corsi was the top finisher, followed by Nathan DeHart (2nd), Charlie Buckmaster (4th) and Isaac King (11th). The 2nd race, the Giant Slalom, was dominated by Adams with 4 top 5 finishes. Nathan Dehart was first overall, followed by Charlie Buckmaster (2nd), Jacob Corsi (4th) and Zeke King (5th).
The boys and girls varsity team will next compete at the regional event at Mt. Holly on Wednesday, February 10th. Start time is approximately set for 9 AM.
