United wins on last second goal!

Rochester United had another epic battle against the Clarkston Wolves last night, this one took the entire 51 minutes to be decided. United opened up scoring at 14:01 of the first period, when #2 Noah Foucha netted a goal with an assist from #17 Steve Myers and #11 Justin Chevalier. Clarkston answered almost immediately when 10 seconds later off the face off they were able to put it in the back of the United’s net.  Emerging from the shadows was #24, Alex Klobucar, with two goals and United‘s player of the game honors!  The play of the game happened in the second period when Foucha dropped a pass to #9 Owen McKenna who found #16 Shane Arbor on the back door to net United’s third goal of the evening.  Clarkston tied United 4-4 with just 1:49 on the clock, looking like it was headed to OT.  United’s leading scorer, Chevalier, was able to impose his will upon Clarkston all evening but struggled to put the puck in the net until the very end when the win was required.  With just 11 seconds left, Chevalier found a beauty of a pass from #6 Carson Becks and Arbour to net the winning goal, putting United up 5-4 in dramatic fashion.  The win goes to United’s net minder of the evening, #31 Zach Kowalski with 28 saves.  This puts United above .500 at 6-5 on the year thus far.  United takes on M1 United on Saturday in another key league contest at the Onyx in Rochester.
