Adams Knocks Off RHS in Season Opener

By DANIEL TALLANT @MIPrepZone ROCHESTER — There might not be a more fitting way to kick off a new season of football than to pit a pair of cross-town rivals against each other in a jam-packed stadium.

Track at State Finals

The boys and girls track teams were well represented in Hudsonville at the Track & Field State Finals, with the following All-State performances: Boys 3200M Relay (8th Place): Matt Scram, Matt Schiller, Colin Crusoe, Parker Raymond Boys 3200M Run (8th Place):     Matt Schram (School record) Girls 3200M Relay (7th Place): Carola Jansohn, Eva Janshohn, Hannah Champine, Maddie

Boys Golf – Advanced to State Finals

The boys golf team qualified for the State Finals and finished 13th overall in the Division 1 tournament at Grand Valley State.  This marks the 30th time in school history the boys team has advanced to the State Finals. 

Baseball – League and District Champs

For the second year in a row, the Adams baseball program won the OAA Red Division, along with a District Championship.  The Highlanders won 23 games during the season and advanced to the Regional Final game.

Boys Basketball – District Title

The Highlander basketball team won the District Championship and advanced to the Regional Final, finishing with a record of 18-6.

United Hockey – League Champs

United hockey earned a share of the OAA Red Division league title, after winning the league outright last season

Wrestling – District Champs

The wrestling team earned a District title for the second year in a row, with victories over Rochester and Lake Orion. 

Boys Cross Country Wins League Title – Girls Teams Joins Them at State Finals

The boys cross country team outdistanced all other schools in the OAA Red Division, winning the league championship and finishing 5th place at the State Finals. The girls team also qualified for the State Finals and landed in 12th place, out of 27 competing schools.
