A Highlander kickoff by Remini Tillotson and a tackle by Dyllan Sheppard started the game with the Blackhawks on offense at the 31-yard line. Pressure by Nick Stokan and Brendan Green forced an incomplete pass and then a quick turnover with Marco DiCresce intercepting a pass. This set up a series of first-down gains by QB DiCresce, Luke Stockoski and Christian Schomer. On third and 8 at the 23-yard line, DiCresce completed an exciting touchdown pass to Will Krol. The extra point by Tillotson was good and the Highlanders led 7-0 with 8:14 left in the first quarter. Adams 7 – Bloomfield Hills 0

The Highlander defense looked good with tackles from Peyton Montour, Stockoski, Josh Vokal, Krol, Schomer, Andrew Rolfs, Max Cibor, and DiCresce – forcing the Blackhawks to punt. Steady yards were gained, but a fumble put Adams back on defense with 25.5 seconds left in the first quarter. Great tackles and coverage forced the Blackhawks to punt again. In the second quarter, Adams took the ball from the 40 to the 2-yard line on a great series of carries by Schomer, DiCresce, Green, and Stockoski. On third and 2, Green ran in for the touchdown and Tillotson’s kick was good. Adams 14 – Bloomfield Hills 0 with 4:35 left in the second quarter.

The Bloomfield Hills kick receiver was forced out of bounds by Teddy LaGarde to start the series. Great pressure by Green, Stockoski and Rolfs, and a tackle for no gain by Stokan and Vokal forced a punt. Adams took over on offense, but a couple incomplete passes forced a punt by Keenan Frazier. With 41:3 seconds left in the half, DiCresce got a tackle, then pressure on the Blackhawks QB by Rolfs allowed DiCresce to pick off a pass for an interception. Adams was unable to convert again when time ran out in the first half.

The second half began with the Highlanders on offense and steady progress, including five first-downs, had Adams at the 3-yard line with third and 3 to go. Christian Schomer carried in a TD, and Cibor held the ball for Tillotson’s extra point. Adams 21 – Bloomfield Hills 0 with 5:49 left in the third quarter.

Green went in at quarterback and got nice support from Vokal, Schomer and Sheppard. The next defensive drive featured a strong quarterback sack from Josh Vokal, tackles by Stokan and John Rittner, and good pass coverage by Cibor, Schomer and Green. Starting the fourth quarter on offense, Green, Stockoski and Drew Brown gained yards, putting Adams on the 42-yard line with second and five to go. Stockoski scored on a 42-yard run and the kick was good. Adams 28 – Bloomfield Hills 0 with 9:49 left in the game.

Back on defense, tackles were made by Sheppard and Kori Pelayo before the Blackhawks scored their first TD with 8:09 left in the game. Adams 28 – Bloomfield Hills 7

A kick return by Green, DiCresce to Cibor pass, Stockoski first down, several runs by Brown, a fumble recovery by Montour, gain by Pelayo, and QB entrance by LaGarde weren’t quite enough and Adams turned the ball over on downs. Nice pressure included Cibor coverage and a Kyle Trimboli QB sack. When Adams regained offensive position, LaGarde took over at QB. A carry by Trimboli put the Highlanders on the 26-yard line with third and five to go, setting up a TD run by LaGarde. A blocked kick made it Adams 34 – Bloomfield Hills 7

Time expired following good pass coverage by Chris Rivel, Trimboli and Amir Habib.
